Why Webflow is the Best

September 3, 2021

Webflow is our favorite website builder and we'll tell you why.

We all know the general breakdown of the general ways to build a website. It can be fully custom coded and developed with a complex back end by a team of developers collaborating between Silicon Valley and Mumbai, or created via a templated drag and drop builder in a day by anyone with a computer. There are levels between - Webflow falls somewhere in the middle. It doesn't require custom code, but it can benefit from it. Even complete custom developers have found it handy, as the code can be exported to use on other projects, or in Shopify.

Webflow is the best website building platform. Webflow completed Series B Funding at the beginning of 2021 and is utilized by companies like AirBnb, Dropbox and Zendesk. It’s profitable, growing, and constantly updating new features.

Not every client needs Webflow, but in most cases, it offers the complex designer that allows us to create without limitations. We can't write about Webflow without mentioning Wix, Squarespace, Showit, and - each has their pros and cons, whether that’s functionality and integrations, or strictly design and aesthetic. Personally, we're not afraid to say that we're partial to the Power of Webflow.

Webflow was made for the designer who doesn’t code.

Alternatively, the knowledge and use of code brings your website to the levels only developers used to be able to reach (with hours and hours (and hours) of writing code). Unnecessary tasks have been removed from the framework - Webflow codes for you so that you can focus on designing visually.

When we build a website for a client, you have a website built on Webflow you have two options for publishing:

  1. Create your own Webflow account and we’ll transfer the site over to you for you to publish. We’ll provide CMS training via screen recordings to your team. Note: Once a site has been published from an account, it cannot transfer account ownership again.
  2. Site Management Plan - we’ll publish the site from our account and be available to you for ongoing site management. You’ll be able to access a limited CMS editor to make changes to copy and images. You’ll pay us a monthly retainer for ongoing maintenance via Webflow’s Client Billing feature.

Client billing is a *big* bonus feature, whether you’re the designer, or the one getting a new website. It make expensing and taxes a breeze. If you’re thinking all these amazing features come at a high price, think again. At $12 monthly for a Basic Site (static, no CMS, but all the capability to be amazing), and $16 for CMS.

When wouldn’t you want to use Webflow?

It’s not the best option for a large-scale e-commerce experience due to the current inability to access mobile store management, send cart abandonment emails, and accept multiple types on currency.  Some layout features don't work on Internet Explorer, which accounts for just 5.5% of internet users.
